Beth A. Kennedy — Treasurer, SMECO Solar LLC; Vice President, Financial Services, Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SMECO). SMECO Solar LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Cooperative.
Kennedy has been employed with SMECO since 1999. She served as controller before becoming vice president in 2020. She is responsible for the cooperative’s accounting, budgeting, finance, treasury, and billing functions.
She serves as treasurer on the board of directors for the Center for Children. She has led SMECO’s participation in several annual Potomac Watershed Cleanup events and has served on the building committee for the Alice Ferguson Foundation.
Kennedy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and a Master of Science degree in international management from University of Maryland University College. She is a member of the Leadership Maryland class of 2013 and a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Maryland..
